Course aims

Provide knowledge about organizations and the nature and functions of management. Enable to orientate in management problems, concepts and methods and to work with literature of the field.

Brief description of the course

Management concept. Organization's operating environment. Planning. Decision making. Motivation. Coordination and control. Organizing and the structure of the organization. Organizational culture. Management styles. Professional power and authority. Communication. Leaders social skills and time management.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- demonstrates knowledge of key concepts, issues, and methods in management;
- uses professional and academic literature effectively;
- relates theoretical knowledge to practical situations and applies theoretical models in practice.
