Students who have not graduated from upper secondary schools where Estonian is the language of instruction, or who have graduated from schools where Estonian is only partly the language of instruction, are required to have Estonian language proficiency at C1 level.

is able to summarise different types of texts in English, to edit various types of texts (both language and content) and to notice the influence of foreign language when editing a translation;
- is able to compile and edit texts related to administrative procedures;
- understands the principles of document management;
- understands the specifics of administrative and legal texts;
- is able to find topic specific literature, to summarise and to present the summary as an internally logical whole using the appropriate expression and vocabulary;
- has acquired the professional skills of a language editor, including skill to edit longer complete texts, to take into consideration the norms of Estonian language, the target audience and the text's function, and to cooperate with the author and the translator, paying attention to the ethical aspects of the editor's work;
