Course aims

To provide students with the opportunity to prepare for the language editor certification exam by reviewing the knowledge acquired in their minor studies through the main tasks of a language editor and refining their editing skills.

Brief description of the course

Initial assessment of editing work, text editing, and working with formatted text. Tasks include correcting spelling errors, evaluating text structure, considering function and target audience, identifying redundancies and inconsistencies, maintaining style consistency, fact-checking, verifying the authenticity and accuracy of quotes, checking and standardizing terminology, and ensuring compliance with formatting requirements.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- is prepared for the certification exam (professional exam);
- has mastered language editing techniques and possesses the necessary knowledge for linguistic text editing.
