Course aims
The aim of the course is to introduce the discipline of public administration and its key areas of the main problems. As a result of the course student has the basic knowledge of the discipline of public administration, its developments in modern public management, and has improved skills in analysing them in comparative context.
Brief description of the course
The course addresses the following topics: formation of public administration discipline; development of public administration: the traditional public management, new public management, governance and their specifics to governmental arrangements; civil service; and regional and local dimensions of public administration.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knowledge of public administration discipline and its developments in modern public management;
- knows the key areas of public administration and theoretical approaches.
is able to understand and analyze the main problems in public administration in comparative perspective, and to present and defend his research.
