Course aims

Basic knowledge of entrepreneurship. The course gives an overview of the role of entrepreneurship, Knowledge and know-how of how to start and develop a business. How to manage basic accounting.

Brief description of the course

The concept of entrepreneurship. How to become and entrepreneur and how to develop a business. How to evaluate atrting capital and its resources. Financail planning in the first stages of entrepreneurship. How to estimate business potential and life- cycle. Managing and regulating basic accounting. Basic principles of accounting.
The courses give a concentrated overview of the subject matter, knowledge is deepened by students’ individual work. Individual work constitutes working through course literature and materials and doing individual home-work.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the concept of entrepreneurship and entrepreneur;
- knows the basic principles of how to draft a business plan. Knows the principles and problems of basic accounting;
- knows basic normative documents and strategies of the field in Estonia.
