Course aims
Alternative subject between the different fields or programs. Provide overview of the 3D projection’s possibilities. Connection with 2D drafting.
Brief description of the course
Differences between Solid Edge and the others CAM tools. The operation principles of CAM. Projection based on the assembly. Traditional and synchronous projection.
Modeling of details.
Practical application of assembly.
Large assembly. Connections between details, modifying them.
Connections between others CAD programs
Operations with the metal-sheets.
Generation of 2D drawings from created models
Generation of models from drawings
Automatic creation of specifications. Cuts from assembly
Overview of the bases of the technical drawing. Formulation of the drawing.

Amount of the practicable exercises is mostly larger than ability to work through during the workshop and that´s why the independent self-training has relatively important role. It is assumed performing and concluding independently the practical exercises. Amount of the self-training for learning the material is approximately 2 hours independent work for every one class-hour.
In case it is necessary then used software´s educational version is available for personal using from lecturer. During the course version SolidEdge ST8 is used.

Learning outcomes in the course
Skills to use efficiently the possibilities of Solid Edge.
Skills to create 3D details and construct the assembly from them
Skills to generate from 3D models 2d drawings and from 2D drawings the 3D models.
Skills to formulate drawings according to the general requirements of technical drawing.
Having the general knowledge about CAM possibilities.
Assessment methods
Examination. Evaluation will be given on the bases of independently accomplished work presented by student.
