Course aims
Creating real 3D models and creating technical drawings.
To contribute to the formation of knowledge and practical competence, which gives possibility more effectively to use of CAD/CAM with contemporary equipment.
Brief description of the course
Differences in usability of SolidEdge from the others CAD programs.
Rational approach to the assembly based modeling. Synchronous and traditional modeling.
Rational selection of the modeling mode. Using the standard parts. Big assemblies.
Relationships between parts and modifying them. Creation of moving assemblies, animations.
Correct creating of technical drawings. Automatic creation of specification lists.
Cuts from the assembly. Structural views. Visualization.

Course is as continuation to the course 3D modelling (IFI6077.DT)

Combination of lectures and practical workshops will be used during the courses. Most part of the lectures will be as practical as possible. The amount of exercises mostly demand more time than is available during the workshops, which means that there is need for significant
time homework for practice and to finish the exercises.
The educational software will be available from lector.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to use rationally the newer versions of SolidEdge;
- is able to create 3D parts and assemblies;
- is able to create the technical drawing according the general standards;
- has the general knowledge of the possibilities of CAM;
- is able to prepare to 3D printing.
