Course aims
To promote the development of knowledges necessary for the understanding the processes taking place in plants (assimilation, dissimilation, anabolism, catabolism).
Brief description of the course
The functioning of plant organisms and the regulation of basic life processes at the level of membrans, hormons, cells and environment. Adaptation to different ecological factors. Following topics are covered: plant water relations, mineral nutrition, photosynthes, respiration, growth and development, growth regulation
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has ability to explain the basic physioloigical processes in plants;
- has ability to explain the differences in physiology of different phylogenetic groups of plants
