Course aims

To provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills for creating web pages, use different media element on web and develop web-based multimedia applications.

Brief description of the course

Basic design principles. Using text, fonts. Using colors, color models. Using different media elements (graphics, sound, video, animation). HTML5 and CSS3. Media elements on web. Creating interactive web-based applications (containing media elements) with Javascript.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows important design principles;
- knows principals of using media elements;
- knows elements of HTML5;
- knows tools of CSS3;
- knows tools of Javascript for controlling media elements and adding interactivity;
- is ablt to create standard web pages with HTML5;
- is able to define web design with CSS3;
- is able to use media elements on web page, create CSS3 animations;
- is able to add interaction and control media playback with Javascript.
