Course aims

To provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills for creating web pages, use different media element on web and develop web-based multimedia applications.

Brief description of the course

Basic design principles. Using text, fonts. Using colors, color models. Using different media elements (graphics, sound, video, animation). HTML5 and CSS3. Media elements on web. Creating interactive web-based applications (containing media elements) with Javascript.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the main design principles and the use of media elements;
- knows the possibilities and rules of the HTML5 language, is able to produce a correct HTML document;
- knows CSS3 language options and rules, can produce correct style sheets for a web page;
- knows the main features of the client-side Javascript programming language, can add interactivity to a website;
- knows terminology related to web pages.
