Course aims
General principles and molecular mechanisms in the living cell.
Brief description of the course
The universal features of cell. Mechanisms of cell specialization. Communication of cells. Development of multicellular organisms. Cell biology applications. Stem cells.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has proficiency in explaining general principles and molecular mechanisms in the living cell;
- has ability to explain general pathways of the regulation of cell proliferation;
- has ability to explain cell communication and processes leading to cell differentiation.
- has ability to explain applications of stem cells in medicine and tissue engineering; further perspectives on directed differentiation.
