Course aims
To provide an overview oflearning andbehavioural difficulties.
To create opportunities for developing the knowledge to work with students with learning and behavioural difficulties in the classroom.
To develop a readiness to adapt the teaching according to the needs of learners.
To develop valuing attitude to work with learners with learning and behavioural difficulties.
Brief description of the course
Causes and symptoms of learning and behavioural problems. ADHD. Conduct disorder. Types of learning difficulties: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia.
Principles of dealing with learning and behavioural problems. Taking into account learning and behavioural difficulties in the classroom. Adapting learning materials according to the student's specific characteristic.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows types and symptoms of learning and behavioural difficulties;
- is able to distinguish students with learning and behavioural problems between students in an age appropriate level;
- is able to apply the principles of the teaching in accordance with the student's learning or behavioural difficulties;
- is able to adapt teaching materials according to the student's specific characteristic.
