Course aims
To teach students the specific features of audiovisual storytelling in comparison with other forms of storytelling. To reach through experimentation with the means of expression of film language an understanding of how they work, what the opportunities for self-expression in film language are and how content and form correlate in film.
Brief description of the course
The course consists of introductory seminars on audiovisual storytelling and the means of expression in film, and practical exercises performed in groups. Each exercise is followed by a joint screening where the students’ task is to provide active feedback and to participate in a joint learning process through analysing the results of other students’ exercises.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has ability to realise film clips taking into account the specifics of the means of expression in film and the skill of audiovisual storytelling.
