Course aims

To provide an overview of the principles of design, developing free creative and technical self-expression related to the specific features of the task.

Brief description of the course

The basic principles of design and their application. The basic principles of composition. The basic principles of ornamental art. Search for motifs and the requirements of technique-related solutions in designs and stylisations. Modelling and sketching. Developing a sketch into a technical drawing. Visual communication. Pictographs and the stylisation of an image.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge about the basics of design and composition theory;
- has skills to use the achieved knowledge in practical creative works.
