Brief description of the course
The course focuses on learning essential general neurobiological principles in the context of learning. Principles of the development and maturation of brain functions and differences in the laws governing brain development in the learning process of pre-school, adolescent and adult learners are discussed. Among other things, the focus is on understanding the role of perception, attention, memory, thinking, and performing functions in learning and teaching. Based on the above, one of the basic theories of learning motivation is considered: Carol Dweck's theory of capacities.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has a general overview of important brain development neurobiological general principles in the context of learning;
- has an overview of important cognitive processes in the context of learning and teaching, and is able to see and describe their role in the learning process;
- knows the basic features of the theory of abilities and can combine them with practical examples.
