Course aims
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge about the main models, methods and theories in the field of reproductive health psychology
Brief description of the course
The course reviews basic knowledge about theoretical and practical aspects in reproductive health psychology and their use in applied settings.
Introduction to theories and models of reproductive health psychology. The interaction of biological, psychological, and social aspects of adolescent development. Sociocultural aspects of parenthood and mother-infant interaction. The biopsychosocial approach in women`s mental health. Mental disorders in the perinatal and postnatal period. Transition to parenthood and family dynamics in the phase of family extension.
Lectures vary with seminars.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to analyse models, methods and theories in the field and is familiar with field-related literature.
- knows how to implement aspects of counselling in the field of reproductive health and takes into account the main aspects of psyholcogy
- is able to orient themselves in the scientific literature
