Course aims
To develop the necessary independent work skills for working as a primary school chemistry teacher.
Brief description of the course
The student observes/listens to the lessons of his specialty, analyzes them together with the subject teacher. Delivers independently at least six to eight hours per week. Prepares lesson outlines and chooses the methodology in cooperation with the subject teacher and the subject methodologist.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has acquired the basic ability to plan the learning process, set goals for learning the subject;
- can design a learning environment, guide students' learning, support their learning motivation and apply assessment methods;
- can create connections between theoretical studies and practical work;
- adheres to professional and ethical requirements;
- based on the lessons of the mentor teacher, he analyzes the methods of managing the learning process and the involvement of students, based on pedagogical principles;
- is able to plan and conduct comprehensive lessons, setting clear and achievable learning goals and choosing appropriate assessment methods;
- is guided in its activities by the school's rules of procedure and national educational standards, understanding the teacher's ethical responsibility and role in the school organization.
