Course aims
To develop the ability to work independently as a chemistry teacher. With the help of a supervising subject teacher, the teaching experience is enriched.
Brief description of the course
To design and improve independent work skills to cope as a chemistry teacher. During the internship, the student participates in the work of the school, observing the classes of subject teachers and fellow students and performing the duties of a subject teacher and class teacher in accordance with the professional manual, taking into account the general work organization of the school. The student participates in the organization of the school's extracurricular activities. The student describes and analyzes his work experience during the internship. Internships are generally carried out in schools in Tallinn.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has acquired the ability to plan and manage the learning process, set goals for learning the subject;
- can design a learning environment, guide students' learning, support their learning motivation and apply assessment methods;
- can integrate the subject with other subjects and cross-cutting themes;
- can make connections between theoretical studies and practical work;
- can analyze the learning environment and his and his colleagues' work as a teacher;
- can work in a team with colleagues from school and fellow interns.
Additional information
The course is not transferable based on the RPL principles.
