Course aims

Students acquire knowledge and practical skills on the techniques of woodwork. They also acquire the basic principles of techniques and didactics of making craft objects necessary for teaching through woodwork specifics and practical experience.

Brief description of the course

The types of woodwork in the syllabus of craft and technology training in basic school. Woodwork training workshop: furniture, equipment and tools. Selection of materials and craft items for teaching manual woodwork in the material-technological system. Woodwork technologies. Designing and making wooden items. Health and safety requirements in woodwork. Specific features of didactics of teaching woodwork.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge and practical skills on the techniques of woodwork in order to be able to teach and apply them creatively at the 2nd and 3rd levels of basic school;
- acquires the basic principles of techniques and didactics of making craft objects necessary for teaching through woodwork specifics and practical experience.
