Course aims

The aim of the course is to get to know children with special needs and their needs, opportunities for supporting their learning in a kindergarten through networking and individualisation and differentiation of learning activities

Brief description of the course

Principles and means of raising children with special needs in a preschool age. An overview of the normalisation principle and inclusion in different countries and of the network of special groups in Estonia. Psychological features of special need children and possibilities of rehabilitation. Special features and regularities of children with special needs in a preschool age, opportunities for correction of their development and inclusion.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
Knows the special features of children with special needs. Can design an individual education plan for children with special needs and lead the development of these children, include them in group activities. Can successfully manage with the organisation of network work with children with special needs, their parents and specialists
