Course aims
A subject of the teacher training program. To introduce principal concepts of Russain as a foreign language, to give a historical review of teaching methods, to discuss various methods, plans and programs used in school practice, to demonstrate methods of teaching of different aspects of Russian.
Brief description of the course
Basic terms; the history of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The status of Russian and its influence on teaching and students`learning motivation at different time. The review of various educational materials. The methods of teaching a foreign language: direct, through translation, audiovisual, communicative, etc. and the practical use of these methods. The summary of goals of learning a foreign language. Purposefulness of educational process and its planning. Principles of making lesson plans. The structure of lessons. Methodics of teaching phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of the Russian language. Introduction of the corresponding materials and textbooks.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows different aspects’ features and understands their role in communication;
- is able to use the given knowledge for making lesson plans and other teaching materials;
- is able to improve pupils’ communicative skills on methodical principles.
