Course aims
Analyze the nature of public relations, focusing on corporate relations as an organizational management function in its ties with strategic planning and implementation.
Brief description of the course
Discusses the nature of public relations, focuses on corporate relations as an organizational management function in its ties with strategic planning and implementation,
Analyzes the main goals and functions of public relation management, the main developmental stages of the field and gives an overview of application of the theoretical models of public relations;
Gives an overview of public relations inside and outside of the organization, focusing on strategic planning of public relations, planning and executing media relations and on planning and executing marketing communication in different types of organizations;
Gives an overview of public relations methods of crisis communication and marketing communication.
Independent work:
Analysis of professional sources necessary for fixing lecture material and preparing for seminars;
Group work.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the main theories and models of public relations
- knows how to use theoretical models to plan public relations processes
- knows how to independently plan media relations
- is able to carry our crisis communication
