Course aims
To introduce the basic properties of number and functional series, multiple, line and surface integrals. To develop basic skills in solving problems and to demonstrate different types of applications.
Brief description of the course
Functional series and their properties, convergence and uniform convergence. Power series, their interval and domain of convergence. The properties of the sum of power series. The Taylor series. The Fourier series. Integrals depending on parameter. Double and triple integrals, line and surface integrals, their properties and existence, evaluation and applications. Formulae of Green, Gauss and Stokes. The elements of field theory.
Learning outcomes in the course
Knows mathematical truths and is able to use methods in volume of a subject, is able to prove and apply them.
Assessment methods
The two classroom tests and individual homework provide 50% and an examination provides the remaining 50% of the total score.
