Brief description of the course
The course covers the most important aspects of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology and geosciences) in different time and space scales. Human ecology and environmental will be not covered within this course. The course topics can be described as a parabola, where the laws of nature start from the big bang to the laws of ecology and end with the construction of the universe: universe formation, atomic construction, chemical element formation, periodic table, molecules, evolution, relationships between organisms, ecology, inanimate natural environment (Earth processes), the universe and its end.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the relationships between different natural sciences and the most important laws of natural sciences;
- applies scientific thinking in solving various problems.
