Course aims
Knowledge permission in green, or sustainable chemistry; integration of chemical foundations with biological principles.

Brief description of the course
Green chemistry or sustainable chemistry is the design of chemical products and processes which reduceor eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances. In the last decade of X century green chemistry has been reocognised as new approach to scientifically based environmental protection. Green chemistry relies on certain 12 principles such as preventing waste, atomic economy, non-toxic reagents, renewable sources, lower energy input, safer solvents (liquido carbon dioxide and ionic solvents), catalytic reagents etc. In the first place green chemistry aims to eliminate pollution by preventing it from happening.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has a command of manner of thought from the aspect of green chemistry;
- uses of sustainable developments and principles in practical actions of everyday life;
- has ability to evaluate future-targeted development schemes.
