Course aims
To provide an overview of the chosen mathematical methods for description of physical fields and possessing of skills to solve the principal types of problems.
Brief description of the course
Vectors and vector fields, differential operators, gradient, divergence, rotor, circulation, integral- and differential calculus in field theory. Maxwell equations as an application of differential operators. Spherical, polar and cylindrical coordinates. Multiple integrals. Calculation of moment of inertia and center of mass using multiple integrals. First- order and second order ordinary differential equations. Differential equation of motion in harmonic and forced oscillations.
