Course aims
Getting to know the properties and processing methods of metals during lectures and practical work. Acquisition of technological knowledge and practical skills in manual metalwork for teaching this subject at the basic school level.
Brief description of the course
Getting to know the physical properties of different metals for manual processing. A brief overview of the wire and sheet production process. The main manual processing technologies for wire and sheet metal. The main techniques of manual working with metals. Methodology for teaching manual metalwork.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can choose a suitable material for making a work object;
- knows manual metalwork technologies;
- can use metalworking tools and implements;
- can feel the proportions of the object and evaluate the aesthetics of the object;
- knows the conditions and requirements for safe working.
The course is a prerequisite
Additional information
The student does practical independent work during practicum classes and during independent work. The work with the theoretical material takes place online after the lectures.
