Course aims
To develop competence to understand the purpose and basis of public relations, both in history and today, using evidence-based approaches; support the development of cultural and ethical values and readiness to take these into account in future careers; develop understanding of different aspects of PR activities.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to PR is entry level course that introduces the basics of public relations. Participants will get an overview of PR history and development, of ethical, professional and theoretical principles. Basics of media relations, internal and external communicational will be covered.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the basics of PR;
- can make basic connections between theoretical and practical PR;
- works independently with professional literature;
- can solve professional tasks in a team;
- can fulfil basic PR tasks.
