Course aims
Forming an understanding of the basic concepts, theories and problems of the field of pedagogy, pedagogical psychology, the essence and objectives of education and the readiness to create an environment promoting learning and coping with different students,

Brief description of the course
Pedagogy. Main terms in pedagogy. Fields of pedagogy. Research objects. Contemporary learning paradigm. Alternative pedagogies. Operational pedagogy, outdoor education. Legislation on education.
Pedagogical psychology. Learning to know students, taking their needs into consideration. Age-related peculiarities of the young and their behaviours. Learning as a process, its prerequisites.
Analysing educational results.
Military pedagogy. The basics of military pedagogy. Different systems and methods of military training.

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the basic notions, fields, theories of the field of pedagogy, the nature and objectives of education, and legislation on education.
- knows the principles of pedagogical psychology and is able to take these into account when teaching on secondary school level;
- knows the peculiarities of military pedagogy and the principles of organising training;
- is abel to take into account students' individual differences when teaching;
- can plan and carry through military training.
