Course aims
To develop valuing attitude to work with learners with learning and behavioral difficulties.
To create opportunities for developing the knowledge to work with students with learning and behavioral difficulties in the classroom.
To develop a readiness to adapt the teaching according to the needs of learners.
Brief description of the course
Causes and manifestations of learning and behavioral problems. Early detection. Types of learning difficulties: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia. Coping with learning and behavioral problems. Taking learning and behavioral difficulties into account in the classroom. Adapting learning materials according to the student's specific characteristic.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to distinguish students with learning and behavioral problems between students in an age appropriate level;
- is able to apply the principles of the teaching in accordance with the student's learning or behavioral difficulties;
- is able to adapt teaching materials according to the student's specific characteristic.
