Course aims

Give students an overview of interactive technological solutions and resources, which help visualize learning materials in learning process;
Create conditions for using programs that support visualization (eg SMART Notebook);
Introduce interoperability of different web-based applications of mediatools and support their ethical using ability in study and education.

Brief description of the course

Visualization activities in organization of information and information technology tools´ involvement in learning process. Technical introduction of interactive whiteboard. Integrating SMARTBoard with different programs and web-pages that are used in teaching. Using program SMART Notebook. Notebook galleries. Image processing with WEB 2.0 tools. Copyright and their impelementation in creating learning materials. Lesson Activity Tools. Animation of drawings. Linking objects to web-pages, files or same file pages. Searching for interesting ideas and thoughts from Teacher Tube environment according to learning speciality. Recommendations for using board, linking, animation, recording and saving. Different learning styles and their indetification by audio-visual tests and internet-based test (VARK). Getting to know school community. Different interactive boards in Estonia. Conducting joint debate on given topic using Facebook group tools. Preparation of group work. Organising and planning teamwork. Participation in discussions in Facebook and IVA forums.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- creates and publishes digital learning objects and uses them in own work;
- knows interactive technical tools, which can be used in different vizualised situations;
- knows how to use programs, which support information organization and visualization (eg SMART Notebook);
- knows how to store files on the internet and share them and cooperate with partners;
- estimates critically found information, evaluating sources and learning materials.
