Course aims

Develop the potential for understanding the principles of art studies necessary for primary school teachers.

Brief description of the course

The concept of art. Elements and principles of art and using them. Styles of art. Art history. History of art education. Theories of art education. Peculiarity of children's creation. Developmental stages of children's ability of description. Art forms.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- understands art events and finds possibilities of teaching art in the 1st-3th forms;
- has experience and analyse creating process;
- has knowledge of peculiarities and development stage of children’s works;
- has knowledge of art and relevant practical skills.
