Course aims

To create opportunities for the class teacher's acquisition of art-related theoretical knowledge and didactic and practical skills, and to support the formation of competence in working as a class teacher who teaches art education in grades 1-3.

Brief description of the course

The methodology of art education at the 1st level of basic school. The art education environment. Creating a work plan for art education. Study literature in art education. Art lesson: parts of a lesson, activities, lesson plan. Visiting exhibitions and museums. Conservation, formulation and presentation of art works (portfolio, frames, exhibition). Assessment.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- acquires knowledge and practical skills of art education;
- is able to plan, carry out and analyse an art lesson;
- obtains knowledge about assessment in art education.
