Course aims

The objective of the course is to introduce principles and history of WWW, provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills for planning, designing, creating and maintaining web pages.

Brief description of the course

History of WWW, web development principles and options. Tools for web, file formats. HTML, CSS. Standards. HTML-editors. Planning a web site. Simple scripts, RSS.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the possibilities and tools for creating simple web-pages;
- can create webpages using HTML and CSS;
- can prepare graphics for web;
- can add Javascript and RSS feed to web page.
