Course aims
* to provide an overview of the central questions of constitutional law;
* to create the preconditions for students to acquire the skills necessary for reading and interpreting the constitution;
* to provide students with knowledge about the activities of constitutional institutions and their interrelations;
* to teach students to use the statements presented in the decisions of the Constitutional Review Chamber of the Supreme Court.
Brief description of the course
The course covers the regularities of legal regulation of state power and governance, the nature of the constitution is addressed, the functions of the constitution and their implementation forms will be analysed. The approach regarding the relations between the state and the individual will be focused on.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of the relevant issues regarding constitutional law and understands their nature;
- is capable of interpreting the Constitution;
- is able to recognize a constitutional problem and explain the content of the potential conflict;
- can use the statements contained in the decisions of the Constitutional Review Chamber of the Supreme Court;
- knows the activity of the constitutional institutions and their interrelations.
