Course aims

To impart basic knowledge of massage influence, indications and contraindications. To explane and practise the difference massage stokes and technics. And to learn to use them according to the aim of massage.

Brief description of the course

The main topics and problems: the concept of massage, type of massages, history and areas of use. Physiological influences of massage. Characteristics and problems of sceletal-musclesystem. Requirements to masseur and ergonomics of the occupation. Available strokes and technics in massage. Practical work to train stokes and technics of massage on the different body parts.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows indications and contraindications of classical massage;
- can to explane physiological influence of massage;
- can to select the right strokes and technics of massage according to client’s problem;
- knows the characteristics and differences of massage strokes;
- can to relieve the typical discomforts of locomotor system with massage.
