Course aims

To apply practical skills and knowledge in professional camp placement conditions individually as a group leader for different target groups.

Brief description of the course

Participation in professional camp placement training (qualification requirement according to youth camp regulations) - dates and training partner is determined at the beginning of spring semester (usually training takes place in march/april). Duration of training is usually 3 days, university will cover the expenses for students who have pre-registered into the course.
The qualification exam has to be passed in ENTK (http://www.entk.ee/laagri-juhatajate-ja-%E2%80%93kasvatajate-osakutse-esmakordse-taotlemise-registreerimisvorm), expenses are covered by student. Certification of the qualification confirms that the exam is passed.
Professional camp placement choice is done by students (vacational youth camps, work and leisure camps, sports camps are excluded). Duration of individual work placement in youth camps has to be 15 working days (generally 3 shifts).
If a student runs for Õpilasmalev placement, training, qualification exam and placements are organised and managed by the foundation Õpilasmalev.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to work individually as youth camp group leader in camp placement with different target groups;
- is able to apply required skills and knowledge (in occupational qualification) in different conditions;
- is able to critically think and analyse competences applied in specific role.
