Course aims

Acquaintance with different types of transfer, the instruction in use of different methods in the dependence on the selected procedure.

Brief description of the course

General and the special theories of translation. Acquaintance with the special features of the different methods of translation. Profession of translator in the cultural space in the post-Soviet means of mass communication. Specific character of the profession of translator among other professions. Role of translator in the local and global peace. Translation model in the cultural, political and technological integration processs. Conditions for the work of translator, his possibility. Specialization of the translator: artistic translation, technical translation, publicistic translation and so forth. Place of the translation in the model of communication line report. Translator, his interrelation with the author, copyrights. Responsibility of translator.
