Course aims
To introduce the basics of harmonizing different rhythmic music styles, their connections with classical harmony and piano playing techniques based on the chord symbols system.
Introduce arranging for different vocal ensembles on the basis of chord symbold, both a capella and with accompaniment.
Introduce various sheet music graphics programs (Musescore, Sibelius) and acquire the ability to digitally rewrite performed works.
Brief description of the course
Relation of the system of chord symbols and comparison with classical harmony. Design of accompaniment parts (piano and / or guitar). Knowledge of digital sheet music writing programs. Practical making music in the ensemble as a singer and accompanist.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the system of chord symbols;
- is able to perform in chord symbols (piano and / or guitar);
- orients himself in the score of vocal works and is able to perform a part corresponding to his voice, knows his function in an ensemble;
- knows simple beatboxing techniques;
- can write scores of different ensembles digitally.
