Course aims
To develop practical skills for creating meaningful pictorial compositions, planning and carrying out creative projects, and analysing artistic and cultural phenomena.
Brief description of the course
Drawing focuses on narrative and illustrative drawing, the social and cultural context of the subject, and the use of different stylistic approaches and techniques according to theme, with emphasis on individual expression and creativity. Painting focuses on composing a whole on assigned and free themes, including figurative composition. The theoretical part analyses means of visual expression in the context of cultural phenomena.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- applies a personal mode of expression and finds individual solutions;
- articulates personal choices and preferences when justifying compositional solutions;
- uses prior painting experience in painted composition;
- independently sets and solves a painting task.
