Course aims
To create opportunities for the students to:
* give meaning to and analyse their specialised competence and role as a teacher and set goals for their professional development; * become familiar with work in different preschool child care institutions and the values and rules agreed upon within them; * analyse the importance and feasibility of cooperation in kindergarten
Brief description of the course
The student: analyses their specialised competence and role as a teacher, and sets goals for their professional development; becomes familiar with work in different preschool child care institutions; becomes familiar with the curriculum, observes and analyses educational activities designed and carried out by teachers, the learning environment created in the group and cooperation within the group.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- gives sense to and analyses their role as a teacher and the principal values of a teacher's profession;
- reflects on their specialised competence and takes it into account when planning self-development;
- knows the values and rules agreed upon within the organisation;
- values cooperation.
