Course aims
Valuing learner’s individual development. Opportunity to choose a topic of personal interest in the area of language, culture, or literature. Developing analytical skills. Prerequisites for conducting research on an MA level.
Brief description of the course
Written research project on the English language, the culture of English-speaking countries or literatures in English, in accordance with the student’s choice. The topic of the paper is approved by the supervisor. The length and structure of the project meets the requirements. After the paper is submitted, oral defence takes place.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has ability to work independently with research databases, primary and secondary literature, and make theoretical conclusions;
- has ability to write an academic text in correct and fluent English.
