Course aims
The purpose of the course is to prepare students for writing their BA research paper.
Brief description of the course
The goal of this course is to guide students in working on their BA research paper and thesis; to provide an overview of methods and equip the students with the necessary skills essential for research, inc. choosing a method, formulating research questions, employing the relevant methodology, working with sources and structuring the research into a coherent written paper of academic quality. In parallel, the students are working with their supervisors on the particulars of their individual topics. The purpose of the BA seminar is to provide the necessary general research skills and provide feedback on their use.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- will demonstrate an understanding of various research methods, enabling them to critically evaluate and select appropriate methodologies for their BA research paper and thesis;
- knows how to formulate clear, focused and academically relevant research questions;
- is aware of the system of reference.
