Course aims
To provide a general overview of European prehistory from the formation of civilizations in Europe to the beginning of the Middle Ages (ca 800 AD)
Brief description of the course
A general overview will be given by periods and regions, considering also promptly the development of archaeology as a discipline. The stress will be on general characterizations and less concrete artefact studies. The course is concentrated on the society, economy and ideology.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Kursuse läbinu peab orienteeruma Euroopa esiajaloos, selle olulisimates kultuurikeskustes ja keskuste-vahelistes seostes. Samuti peab orienteeruma olulisimates Euroopa esiajaloo perioodides ning neid iseloomustavates fenomenides.
