Course aims
A profound course for archaeology students, an overview of Scandinavian Stone Age, Bronze Age and the first half of Iron Age.
Brief description of the course
The first half of Swedish., Danish and Norwegian prehistory. An overview of artefacts, ways of interpretation, development of archaeological thought in Scandinavia will be provided. Special attention will be paid on cultural contacts inside and outside from Scandinavia. Types of artefacts and research methods will be introduced. An overview of the development of Scandinavian society, economical and ideological processes in the area during Stone, Bronze and Iron Age.

Upon completing the course the student:
Õpilane on omandanud süvateadmised Skandinaavia keskmisest ja nooremast rauaajast. Teab erinevaid esemetüüpe, tõlgendusvõimalusi ja Skandinaavia arheoloogilise mõtte arengut.
