Course aims
To get practical skills in influencing children’s development involving physical and health education, spot and evaluate children’s individual peculiarities and special needs.
To get practical skills in noticing the differences in PE teacher’s work while working with children at different ages and children with special needs.
To get practical skills for planning and conducting physical and health education.
To get practical skills for cooperation with children, teachers, and parents (incl councelling).

Brief description of the course
Observation and analysis of PE teacher’s activities (indoors and outdoors) while working with children at different ages and children with special needs (special, nursery, joint and kindergarten group), planning and partial conduct of physical and health education, active communication with children, teachers, and parents (incl councelling), analysis and evaluation of children’s games, learning and educational activities, educational environment and development. Self-analysis.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student:
- Can analyse and critically evaluate the level of his/her theoretical knowledge and practical skills
- While conducting learning and educational activities uses correct subject-related knowledge, activities, vocabulary and methods which are appropriate for the child’s peculiarity and age
- Has experienced PE teacher’s work with children at different ages and with special needs
- Has experience in planning physical and health education
- Has experience in cooperation with children, taechers and parents.
The student:
