Course aims
The aim of the course is to acquire a deep understanding of the social economy, develop the ability to explain the nature of social innovation, compare different innovation theories and describe different components of social innovation. During the course, the student will learn to analyze the impact, needs and opportunities of social innovation in society, gain an overview of the creation and functioning of social enterprises, acquire the skills of measuring and evaluating social innovation, and apply knowledge when working with basic business development models of social enterprises.
Brief description of the course
Course offers an in-depth exploration of the social economy through the lens of social work and social sciences. It delves into the dynamics of social innovation, social entrepreneurship, and social capital, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of these concepts.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the social economy concepts, particularly within the realms of social work and social sciences;
- has the ability to critically analyze and compare social innovation;
- is able working with a business development model for social enterprises.
