Course aims
Support understanding biological systems energy metabolism and understanding through the formulation of physical laws;
Support understanding regularities and functions of living systems;
Brief description of the course
I and II law of thermodynamics - energy conservation and law of ectropy. Entropy of the equilibrium and non-equilibrium system. Free energy, enttalpia. Heat and matter distribution in the system. Molecul physics. Live system as self-regulating system.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Characterizing the thermodynamic state of the system can understand the concept of the laws of life and the changes that are descriptive of the systems;
Can describe living systems exchange energy and matter flow based on the laws of physics;
Understands the importance of the second law of thermodynamics I and biological evolution and development of the system.
