Course aims

To give an overview of the themes of crochet and the subject syllabus of schools of general education; to acquire the terminology, technology and the skill to give a contemporary and creative output to the acquired knowledge and skills; to acquire theoretical and practical basis for teaching.

Brief description of the course

Materials used for crochet, implements and basic technological methods.
Handicraft techniques in the subject syllabus of schools of general education. Planning works, selection of materials, theory of patterns. Special methods of crochet.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has got systematic overview on crochet thematics;
- has the knowledge and skill to choose materials and equipment;
- knows the terminology and technological possibilities;
- knows and appreciates Estonian ethnical crochet traditions.
