Course aims
The student becomes acquainted with historical costume of various periods and differentiates them.
Brief description of the course
Ancient costumes: Egypt, Greece, Rome, Byzantium. Roman, Gothic and Renaissance styles. Spanish court fashion. Baroque and Rococo styles. Revolution period costume. Empire, Romantic era and the Second Rococo. Costume at the end of the 19th century and the early years of the twentieth century.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge of clothing from different eras;
- has the skill to differentiate and analyse the clothing styles of different eras.
