Course aims
To give knowledge about therapeutic application of music and main methods and techniques of music therapy, based on personal experience and practical exercises.
Brief description of the course
Overview of the history of music therapy. Psychological and physiological effect of music. Theoretical foundations of music therapy and areas of application. Main techniques and methods of receptive and active music therapy. The process of music therapy, therapy relationship and assessing and analysing the therapeutic outcome.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knowledge about the effect and therapeutic application of music;
Knowledge about the main techniques and options of application of receptive and active music therapy;
Skills of using music, sounds, voice and musical activities in a therapeutic relationship; Knowledge about the process of music therapy and its practical implementation;
Skills of planning a therapy session and drafting and implementing music therapy exercises.
Knowledge about the effect and therapeutic application of music;
Knowledge about the main techniques and options of application of receptive and active music therapy;
Skills of using music, sounds, voice and musical activities in a therapeutic relationship; Knowledge about the process of music therapy and its practical implementation;
